Chocolate, Coffee & Cards – Teddy Bears!

Hello, how are things in the world of you?

I’m here today to let you know that there is a new challenge starting over on the Chocolate, Coffee and Cards blog and our theme this fortnight is Teddy Bears!

Our sponsor is the fabulous Ladybug Crafts Ink and they were very generous to let the DT each pick an image to work with and I chose Swing Billy, available here

I printed Billy off onto watercolour card and coloured him with Inktense Pencils. I added clouds to the sky using a Memory Box die but like a wally I decided to cover most of them up with a Spellbinders tree die which is ironically called Just Swingin’. You can just about see them I think. Oooops!

I used my ‘older than I care to remember’ Tonic mini daisy punch to add some flowers to the tree and a Tattered Lace die to give them some leaves.

So as not to upset the clouds having so viciously covered them up previously I fixed some more to the top, adding a touch of Stormy Sky DI for shadow.

I made a bow from brown Silky Crush Ribbon, and punched a larger flower out to match the others and that went on the top. The sentiment is from Tattered Lace.

I thought I was going to mount all this onto an A6 top fold card and leave it at that but it lacked something.  So I cut 2 of the largest rectangles from the Spellbinders Fanciful Lattice set out of Centura Pearl to make a card blank.

I hope you will join us at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards. It’s a great challenge and who hasn’t got a teddy bear somewhere in their stash?  Check out the blog for all the wonderful DT inspiration and play along!

Thanks so much for looking!
See ya!

MilkCoffee Showcase – Boys

Hello, hope all is well with you and yours.

Today sees a new MilkCoffee Showcase and the theme today is Boys.  You know those things that leave the toilet seat up, dirty plates in the sink and think football should be a recognised religion! Can’t live with them; can’t roll them through the Big Shot either!

So my creation today was entirely inspired by the MilkCoffee image I Want to be Like Daddy which is available here.  I saw this cute little boy in his daddy’s clothes and thought about him rooting through a chest of drawers looking for all the items.  So that’s what I did.

I made an A6 top fold base from Kraft and ran it through a wood panel embossing folder from Sheena Douglass. I then cut out three ‘drawers’ and embossed them too, but so the grain ran horizontally.  Card Candi coloured with permanent pen became the drawer handles.

I printed my image onto Neenah Solar card, coloured him with Spectrum Noirs and fussy cut him out.

Now this is where it all gets a little ‘amateur hour’ I’m afraid. I decided, in my infinite wisdom, to have ‘clothes’ hanging out of the drawers in true ‘I have been a-rummaging, Dad’ fashion.  But, as I couldn’t find anything suitable to use I found myself having to draw the things myself. (Roll eyes towards the heavens! Oh dear!)

So please forgive the slightly wonky scarf (drawn onto patterned paper, DAD stamped in sepia Archival, and twine added to the bottom using a Crop-A-Dile), the spotty tie (coloured with Spectrums and then given a dotty design) and the hankie at the top (be grateful, it was going to be underpants!).

So there you are. I quite like it actually.  It certainly came out so much better than I thought it would (kind of pinning for the underpants now though.  Did I say that out loud?!).

Please meander over to check out all the lovely creations by my teamies here and visit the MilkCoffee shop to see the fabulous images they have.  And don’t forget to join in the current challenge on the challenge blog which, in total contrast to the Showcase, is Girly!

Thanks so much for looking!

Spots & Dots at the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog

Hello! Hope everyone is well and surviving the horrendous UK weather. My heart goes out to all those caught up in the floods. The rain has been merciless. Do take care out there!

So onto cheerier things! We’ve gone a bit spotty today at the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog and we’re hoping that it is contagious!! What am I going on about? Well our new challenge starts today and we would love to see your cute creations using Spots & Dots within the design.  But please don’t forget to make it cute as in adorable!  I think the definition of cute is becoming a bit blurred at times but if the image is sweet and makes you go Awwwwwww! then you’re on the right track!

This time we are sponsored by Sweet Stamps

and one lucky winner will win a $10 gift certificate for their online store

and also by From the Heart

who are offering a $5 gift certificate to one lucky individual.

The DT were fortunate to be allowed to choose an image from the From the Heart online shop which was nigh on impossible, so many beautiful things, but in the end I picked Bunny Hello.  Too cute!

I recently came into possession of the brand new Spectrum Noir pencils (sounds a bit dodgy that, like they fell of the back of a lorry… don’t worry Del Boy was not involved and I did pay for them) and this is their first outing! These fab pencils come in so many scrummy colours but for some reason I chose to colour in greyscale with a splash of pink!! Hey ho!

I printed my little girl and wabbit on Neenah Solar and once coloured I stamped round the edge.  To further incorporate the spotty theme I added dots to the flowerpot.

The papers are from Papermania and the dies are all from Tonic as is the tiny flower punch. I embossed the card behind the lattice with Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Dainty Dots folder

The rose is made using the Sizzix 3D Flower Bigz die and the ribbon I found in the bargain bin at Hobbycraft. The sentiment is from LOTV which is a change I made after submitting my photo to the DT blog. Oooops!

Pop over to the Cutie Pies blog to join in the spotty fun and be inspired by all the lovely creations made by my fellow Cuties.

Thanks so much for looking!
See ya!

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards – One Button, One Bow & One Flower!

One flower?!  One flower?!  Me?!  One flower?!

Sorry.  I’m alright now.

Hello, I’m back to let you know that there is a new challenge starting today over on the Chocolate, Coffee and Cards challenge blog  and our theme is One Button (sure I can find one somewhere), One Bow (yeah no probs) and One Flower.  What?  Just one?! One? What as in singular?! Oh ‘eck!

So enough of this ‘WHAT, ONLY ONE FLOWER!’ outburst, what did I make?

We are sponsored this time by MelJen’s Designs who have the most adorable images possible. Pop over to their shop and see for yourself.  I chose to use Little Girl Bear Hugs available here.  Soooo cute!

I coloured with Spectrum Noirs on Neenah Solar card and cut her out using Tonic dies.

So if I can only have one flower let’s make it count, that’s what I say, so I used my matching stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations called Daisy Patch.  Love, love, love this set. So easy to use and makes me look like I know what I’m doing!!  He, He!

My one flower!

The bow is my favourite Silky Crush ribbon and the little button was found after quite a few minutes of opening drawers, pulling out boxes and using words I didn’t even know I knew!!

And there you go. I hope you will join us at Chocolate,Coffee and Cards. The recipe is really easy (despite my flower tantrum!), so check out the blog  for all the amazing DT creations and play along!

See ya!

MilkCoffee Showcase – Spring is in the Air

Hello, how’s things?

It’s showcase time again on the MilkCoffee blog and the theme this time is Spring is in the Air!  And don’t we all wish it was!  The rain in the UK has been relentless. Hope you are Ok wherever you are.

So, I made a frame card a few weeks back which you can see here  and thought I would do another one. Well originality is not my strong point!

There are some gorgeous new images in the MilkCoffee shop and I chose to use Lisbeth and Little Bunnies.  I printed Lisbeth onto watercolour card and coloured her with Distress Inks.

Look at those ickle bunnie wabbits!

After embossing the card front I coloured it with Turquoise and Violet Tint PanPastels.

I had a bit of a flower frenzy with my Tonic punches (love, love, love to make my own flowers, can you tell?) and cut the leaves from Tattered Lace Dies.

Do you think I made enough flowers?

The cute little fence and birdhouse is a wooden shape from Hobbycraft that I also coloured with PanPastels and a touch of DI.

Another ickle bunny wabbit has snuck in I see!

Check out all the amazing designs by my teamies here and visit the MilkCoffee shop to see the oodles of super cute images there.

Valentine Cuties at the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog

Hello! Hope all is well with you and yours!

Huge sigh! Now love is most definitely in the air over at the Cutie Pie Blog where our brand new challenge theme is Valentine Cuties.  Awwwwwwh, now doesn’t it make you feel all mushy inside? No? What are you made of, shrink plastic!?!

Well, loved up or not we are sponsored this time by 2 CuteInk

2 Cute Ink digital stamps are my own cute and quirky illustrations used for card making and paper crafting!

I love drawing animals and anything cute!  I am always looking for new ideas to draw, so let me know what you would like to see!

And one lucky winner will win 2 digital stamps

They have a fab shop with some ridiculously cute images and it was so hard to choose just one but in the end I went with Sleeping Turtle, and of course she is dreaming of her true love! Sigh!

I used the image twice, shrinking one considerably so that it would fit inside the largest of my Memory Box Cloud dies (thank you Santa!).  I printed them out onto Super Smooth card and coloured with Promarkers.

Dreaming of her man. Awwwwwwh!

I made a stepper card this time and covered it with LOTV Bear Necessities paper. The dies are Lacey Ovals and Classic Ovals from Spellbinders.

For information; most of the pearls fell off 5 mins after this shot!!

Pop over to the Cutie Pies blog to see the amazing inspiration created by my talented teamies and spread the luuuuuurve!

See ya!

Ladybug Crafts Challenge – Be Mine

Hello, how are you keeping?

As it is the first day of the month I am here to show my DT contribution to the February Ladybug Crafts challenge where the theme is Be Mine.

A friend of mine, who shall remain nameless, decided to abandon papercraft for the joys of needlework (quizzical look and eyebrows raised!).  Her wonderful hubby bought her a sewing machine for her birthday and she has never looked back. This lead to her having a few bits of crafty stash that were now redundant and requiring a good home.  Step forward me with a needy look and outstretched hands (gimme, gimme!).  Needless to say the orphaned stash is orphaned no more. J

So here I am with my ‘first ever Tilda’ (I know, how shabby is that!) thanks to my unexpected and very generous inheritance! (Thank you; thank you; thank you!)

I coloured my ‘first ever Tilda’ with my Pro & Flexmarkers onto super smooth card.

I went a bit bold with my colour choice of deep pink with a touch of blue but I think it works.
All the dies and punches are from the Tonic Affections collection except the leaves which are from the Spellbinders Botanical Swirls & Accents and the Tattered Lace Ornate Leaves.  The fab papers are Bonnets & Bowties from LOTV as is the sentiment.  And yes those are skeleton leaves you can see. Well they were the right colour!

And that’s it. My first and defiantly not my last foray into the wonderful world of Tilda!

Now it’s your turn to get loved up!  Scoot over to the Ladybug Crafts challenge  to join in and check out the amazing DT inspiration.

See ya!
