The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge #11!

Hello! How is everyone? Good I hope!

My mum asked me if I could make her a bookmark with an angel on it, so of course I said no!! J  Well obviously I didn’t.  As a dutiful, kind and generous daughter (job description still under review) I found the perfect image called ANGEL ELLIE. Isn’t she an…..well…angel!! J

As the purpose of a bookmark is to save the page and not make the book impossible to close I didn’t add much dimension or frills to it.

Have to say I love it and it’s not often I say that about my stuff.  It is probably the colours, which I adore, or that sweet little face.  Either way my mum NOW says she does not want to use her as a bookmark in case she ‘squashes her’ between the pages!!!  Rolls eyes; shakes head; weeps a little!! J

Zodiac Virgo!

Hope you are not too sick of me as this is my 4^th post this week!! I know!! But today I am showcasing on THE PAPER NEST DOLLS CHALLENGE BLOG so you’ll have to put up with it!! J

OK now I have 2 female birthdays coming up in August (get me being that forward thinking) so I decided to use the gorgeous ZODIAC VIRGO for my card today!

I went a bit ‘off-piste’ (not swearing) with my colour combo today mixing my greens a bit.  This was because I had chosen my paper but also wanted to use a bow that I have had in my ribbon drawer since the Age of Aquarius (sticking with the whole Zodiac theme here)J!!!

The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge #7!

Hello! How is everyone! Good I hope! It’s July apparently! Good grief…nearly Christmas!!

So today launches our new monthly challenge over on THE PAPER NEST DOLLS CHALLENGE BLOG and our theme is Anything Goes! This time we are sponsored by the wonderful…

Now Christine has designed a whole range of dolls on a fairy-tale theme all of which you can see HERE and I decided to use the super pretty PRINCESS SWEET PEA.

I guess I went with the obvious for this card by putting PEA in front of a bed piled with mattresses that I made from the fab papers in the LOTV ‘Always and Forever’ NitWit Collection pad.  A little rough on the cutting front and the hand drawn buttons and pillow are a bit of a fright but she found the pea so she’s happy!! J 

The four-poster bed is made from Kraft card and a Spellbinders border die.  You won’t believe the amount of foam pads that are lurking around the back! Shocking!!!

I couldn’t find any SN markers to match this time so I used Promarkers instead which I haven’t used for ages.  I was surprised to find there was ink still left in them!!

Hairdresser Ellie!

Hello there! I’m back again! 

So today I am showcasing on The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge Blog !

Christine released some gorgeous new dolls on 12^th April which you can see here and I have used one of those sweet girls called Hairdresser Ellie.

I chose this image as it very evocative for me.  My mum was a hairdresser for over 30 years! When I was growing up (still a work in progress) she had her own small salon at the front of our house so the smell of perm solution and setting lotion hold a lot of memories for me. Not necessarily all good you understand.  The 80’s will always be a decade my mop would rather forget!! J

Fairly light on adornment this one but I did find a sewing shears charm in amongst some embellies which I think passes as a pair of hairdressing scissors.  Best not try to trim your bob with them though!! J
