Delightful Challenge Thursday – Celebrate! Our Last Ever Challenge :(

Hi all! Hope you are well and happy! Seven more sleeps to Christmas! That can't be right surely!

Well this will be my final post of the year and it is a sad one as it is also the last ever challenge over at the Delightful Challenge Blog! L Wendy has decided to close the challenge to devote more time to Digital Delights by Louby Loo designs! However Digital Delights by Louby Loo will NOT be going anywhere and will carry on bringing exciting daily posts and super cute designs! All the team would like to thank everyone for supporting us in our weekly challenges and hope that you will continue to find inspiration on the Digital Delights Blog where you may see some posts from me from time to time! Wink! Wink!

Anyway onto our last ever theme and it is Celebrate! So interpret that any way you wish!
My interpretation was to make an exploding box! Now I haven't made one of these for years!! I used to make them quite a lot but I was so out of practice I made three lids before I got one to fit!!
I decided to celebrate a birthday so used the gorgeous Celebration Charlie to sit in the middle with his balloons! Party on dude!!!
Ingredients:
Dies: Sizzix ‘Stars Framelits’ – Tonic ‘Nesting Ovals – La La Land ‘Flag Banner’
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White - Papermania Capsule Collection ‘Pastel Spots & Stripes’ – Kraft – Centura Pearl
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Gems – acrylic dewdrops

So celebrate good times come on and dance over to the Delightful Challenges Blog to see the amazing inspiration created by the DT and don't forget to visit the shop for Wendy’s gorgeous digis!

Dig Choosday Challenge – Week 50: Last Minute Christmas!

Hello, how are things? At last I have finished my Christmas shopping! Hurrah! Hope your Christmas prep is going well too! I have even made my mince pies and iced my cake! I am a festive domestic goddess!!! J

OK enough waffle, as it is Choosday we have another challenge over at Digi Choosday and our theme this week is Last Minute Christmas!  As usual there is a fab prize up for grabs so check out the blog for details.

So to me ‘Last Minute Christmas’ means “Oh heck, I've forgotten someone!!” Therefore I wanted to make something that was incredibly simple and could be created in a flash! And that’s where the awesome Work & Play 5 – Festive Hollybobs Full Collection comes in! There are so many gorgeous goodies in this collection and if you have a graphics program you can whip up a fabulous design in moments (OK so moments may be a bit of an exaggeration but you get the idea!)!  I used one of the beautiful papers and some of the amazing pre-coloured images and arranged them in Serif to make a scene!

You can also get the Hollybobs Santa as a single digi here.

So simple!

Ingredients:
All Images (pre-coloured), sentiment and paper: Work & Play 5 – Festive Hollybobs Full Collection!
Card: A5 Blank
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers on the sentiment and to outline the images only
Others: Serif Craft Artist 2

So pop over to the blog to see the incredible inspiration created by the amazing DT and join in with this fab challenge! And don't forget to check out Nikky’s stunning designs in the shop!

Thanks so much for looking and have a great day!

Delightful Challenge Thursday – Bundle Up! (Winter Theme!)

Hello everyone! Hope all is well with you and yours! How is your Christmas prep going? I’m nearly done, just a truck load of mince pies to make now!!

So onto the new challenge over at the Delightful Challenge Blog and our theme this week is Bundle Up! (Winter Theme!)

We are sponsored by

who are offering a fabulous prize!

I decided to do a spot of digital merging again (who was the brain box that introduced me to Serif then???)

I used the fab Snowball Andy and teamed him with Winter Barn to create a little scene.

I thought I would make myself a sentiment snowman using the Ornate Christmas Sentiment Set complete with twiggy arms and a hat a cut from another image of Andy that I had previously printed.  Love those rosy cheeks. Possibly the result of too much egg nog!!

Ingredients:
Dies: Spellbinders ‘Snowflakes View’ – Die’sire ‘Snowflakes’ – Tonic ‘Nesting Circles’ – Tattered Lace ‘Winter Foliage’ (for the snowman’s arms)
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – Kanban
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Stickles – Gems – Liquid Pearls

So wrap up warm and pop over to the Delightful Challenges Blog to see the amazing inspiration created by the DT and don't forget to visit the shop for Wendy’s gorgeous digis!

For my project this week I chose to make a little tea light holder (battery operated of course!) to go on the Christmas table!  The paper is from the amazing Work & Play 5 – Festive Hollybobs Full Collection as is the sweet little elf (he is also available as a separate digi here) The lamppost is part of the Collection as well and I merged it to sit behind the little guy as I thought he might appreciate it!!

Dies: Sue Wilson ‘Classic Rose’

Cutie Pie Challenge – Anything But a Card!

Helloooo! Hope you are well!

We have a brand new challenge at the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog  this month and our theme is Anything But a Card! So find a cute image and make it into….well…anything but a card!!

We are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps
Now Bugaboo Stamps  were very generous and allowed the team to choose our own images for this challenge and I chose to use Kidz Christmas Boy and His Dog
The photo looks a tad odd as I had to hang my ‘bauble’ from a mini Christmas tree and this makes it seem ginormous!! Trust me it’s not! J
Ooooh too cute! Love that little doggie but he is wearing antlers and I do not endorse the dressing up of pets! (Rant pending…….please vacate the vicinity)

Now I am not a lover of clothes for dogs! Not only is it silly and undignified (I know embarrassment is probably not a dog emotion) but it is also likely to end in the ripping up of said costume and a need to plug in the Hoover and reassess your life! Dogs do not need clothes people………..they are NOT dolls or even slightly fashion conscious!  They are dogs! Besides, how silly are you going to look walking down the road with a terrier in a Santa suit! Nuff said!

Oh my! Anyway I am making an exception for this dog (he doesn’t seem that bothered….yet) and I decided to make a bauble for this challenge.  Extremely simple but I was a bit stumped with this one to tell you the truth.

Ingredients:
Dies: Couture ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White - Kanban
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Ribbon – Stickles

So bauble don't dawdle (!) and jingle all the way over to the Cutie Pies blog to see all the wonderful projects created by the team.

Thanks so much for looking, and have a lovely day!
See ya!

Delightful Challenge Thursday – Twinkle, Twinkle & A New Release!

Hello everyone! Hope all is well with you and yours! Christmas shopping all done yet?! No, mine neither! L

So onto less panicky things and it’s an exciting day today as it is time for the DT to showcase the new release at Digital Delights by Louby Loo so take a look all the gorgeous new festive images that the wonderful Wendy has created!

We also have a new challenge over at the Delightful Challenge Blog and our theme this week is Twinkle, Twinkle! so we would like you to add some sparkle to your project please.

We are sponsored by
who are offering a fabulous prize of a $10 store cert!

So which of the gorgeous new images did I get to play with? It was the super cute Mitzy Elf. Check out that hat!!

I do seem a little obsessed with the old snow globe look of late (no surprise really as I do collect them) and I couldn't resist popping Mitzy into Serif and merging her with another of Wendy’s fab designs, Poinsettia Snow Scene, which has a fab snow globe look!  I love how this gives you a really effective large topper with minimal effort. Minimal effort is the way forward!! J

Have to say I'm loving this dark grey and lilac colour combo! It will be filed in my ‘Must Use Again’ folder!

Ingredients:
Dies: Spellbinders ‘Grand Scalloped Circles’ & ‘Fancy Tags 2’
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – American Crafts - Papermania
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Stickles – Gems

So get your-elf (I know!) over to the Delightful Challenges Blog to see the amazing inspiration created by the DT and don't forget to visit the shop for Wendy’s gorgeous digis and check out the fab new releases!

Thanks so much for looking, and have a lovely day!

Hello, how are things?

It’s Choosday so we have another challenge over at Digi Choosday and our theme this week is Christmas!  What could be simpler?! As usual there is a fab prize up for grabs so check out the blog for details.

For my card this week I chose to use a card shape I saw on Create and Craft.  It was A4 folded in half lengthways and it had a row of houses on it! Cool, I thought!
So as I had decided to use the cute little boy Hollybobs Snowballing this time (he is also available on Work & Play 5 – Festive Hollybobs Full Collection as are the fab ticket sentiments) and I couldn’t resist duplicating him and making it into a full on snowball fight!! DUUUUUUCK!! (Hope you did!) J

Ingredients:
Dies: None
Card: Neenah Solar White
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Twine

Delightful Challenge Thursday – It’s A Kid’s World!

Hello everyone! Hope all is well with you and yours!

Thursday’s here so we have a new challenge over at the Delightful Challenge Blog and our theme this week is It’s A Kid’s World!, so make something with a child in mind! Or for me if you like; same thing! J

We are sponsored by
who are offering a fabulous prize!

So I wanted to make a kinetic card as I thought a child would enjoy something with a bit of movement and I thought Flying Santa would be perfect! I made a sliding mechanism (sounds technical and clever but was sooooo not!) to enable Santa to ‘fly’ across the sky and back again.  OK so the poor guy only goes a few centimetres; not a long & interesting flight!!!  I also made a ‘sleigh’ to hold some pressies, all of which I cut from various dies.

Spot the diffrence??!!

I originally intended to make a penny slider but the thought of Santa spinning out of control across the night sky might have looked a bit nightmarish, especially for kids! I know it would scare me!! J

 Ingredients:
Image: Flying Santa
Dies: Spellbinders ‘Decorative Labels Eight’ & ‘Labels Four’ – Tattered Lace trees – Sizzix oval (to shape the top of the ‘sleigh’) – Tonic ‘Nesting Squares & Rectangles’
Punches: Tonic snowflake
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White –Snowy Sky paper from stash
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Stickles – ribbon - twine

So fly (it’s not far) over to the Delightful Challenges Blog to see the amazing inspiration created by the DT and don’t forget to visit the shop for Wendy’s gorgeous digis!

Thanks so much for looking, and have a lovely day!
See ya!

Dig Choosday Challenge – Week 47: Christmas Celebrations!

Hello, how are things?

It’s Choosday so we have another challenge over at Digi Choosday and our theme this week is Christmas Celebrations!  As usual there is a fab prize up for grabs so check out the blog for details.

For my card this week I once again used some of the gorgeous papers and elements from the can’t-live-without-it Work & Play 5 – Festive Hollybobs Full Collection!!!

So what do Christmas Celebrations mean to me? Well family of course! Parties, of course and skating parties definately………..
……OK so that’s not true! I don’t skate! I don’t see the logic in standing on an unbelievably slippery surface balancing on a blade less than an inch thick!! Falling over will be involved here, people! I know I’ve tried it! And then there’s the spinning and the one legged acrobatics!!! It’s a Health & Safety nightmare! Graceful yes!  Beautiful yes! Utterly bonkers?! Definitely!! J

And breathe…..

……Anyhoo unnecessary anti-skating rant over I wanted to use the totally adorable and completely competent Hollybobs Skater on my design and made an easel card as a platform for my ‘rink’!
And here is why I adore digis! I printed Hollybobs Skater 3 times, shrinking 2 and flipping 1. Versatility-tastic!!

Ingredients:
Dies: Couture ‘Winter Flurries’
Other Card: Neenah Solar White – Centura Pearl
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Stickles - Gems

So glide over (no slipping and falling please) to the blog to see the amazing Christmas Celebrations inspiration created by my uber talented teamies and join in with this fab challenge! And don’t forget to check out Nikky’s scrummy designs in the shop!

Thanks so much for looking (and not falling over), and have a great day!

Guest Designer for The Paper Nest Dolls!

Hello, how are things with you? Good I hope!

I was so thrilled to be asked to the Guest Designer in November for The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge Blog and here is my last card! I just want to say a big thank you to the lovely PND ladies for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to work with such gorgeous images!

So what did I do this time?  Well I chose to use the beautiful Ballgown Avery who is available in rubber so check out the store here

I really had to do the whole 'pretty in pink' thing with his sweet lady as I don’t seem to have done a girly card for ages!

It is quite surprising that my design came out pink at all really and not black as my Grand Calibur decided to leak oil all over my plates and my hands! Grrrrrrr!! Thank goodness I have a Cuttlebug and a Big Shot (I know…. I won’t tell you that I have access to an E-bosser as well; greedy or what)!! J

Ingredients:
Dies:  Spellbinders ‘Elegant Labels 4’ - Tattered Lace ‘Kensington’ frame, ‘Midi Blooms’ & ‘Vines’
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – Kanban – Centura Pearl
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir Markers & Pencils

For my project I used some of the wonderful papers and elements from the awesome Work & Play 5 – Festive Hollybobs Full Collection! Love, love, love this!

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards – Your Favourite Holiday!

Hello, how are things? Good I hope!

I’m back again as Chocolate, Coffee and Cards  have a new challenge today which is Your Favourite Holiday! So choose your fave, be it summer, Christmas, Easter etc. and make us a card!  But do remember that we are a CARD ONLY challenge!

This time we are sponsored by Scribbles Designs
There is a fab prize up for grabs for one lucky winner so check out the blog or details!

This is a sad post for me today as it will be my last with this wonderful team.  I have thoroughly enjoyed working with such a fabulous bunch of ladies and will miss them loads!

So onto my final make and of course my favourite holiday is Christmas! It can never start too early for me and always finishes too soon.

Now I have two cards to show, the reason being that I dislike them both in equal measure and could not decide which was worse!! Hmph!!

I have used the rather fabulous Snowman Globe and have failed miserably to do him justice! I used Serif to mat the sentiment onto the plaque and that’s where my mojo up and left me! (Miserable so-and-so!)  Undeterred I proceeded to make the first red card.  Oh dear I over glittered (sigh)......
Card 1
......and so I made another one. Got the colours a bit wrong here and ran out of time!! L Oh well!
Card 2
When my mojo comes back it is definitely destined for the naughty corner!!

Ingredients:
Dies/Punches: Snowflakes from Die-sire, All Occasions, Tonic & Spellbinders
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – Glitter card
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Cuttlebug embossing folder - Stickles - Ribbon

So roll that snowball over to see what my fabulous, will-miss-you-very-much-teamies have made for this challenge and play along!

Thanks so much for looking and have a good day!
See ya!

Delightful Challenge Thursday – Happy Holidays!

Hello, how is everyone?

It’s Thursday and that means that we have a brand new challenge over at the Delightful Challenge Blog and our theme this week is Happy Holidays, so we’d like you to make us a project depicting the holiday of your choice!

We are sponsored by
who are offering a fabulous prize!

Now when it comes to choosing a holiday I am ALWAYS going to pick Christmas, seeing as I am a complete Christmas nut! (Feel free to omit the word Christmas from that admission if you wish!) J

I used the impossibly sweet Mistletoe Marci & Bertie on my card. Love their cute matching glasses!

The sentiment is from the Christmas Hugs Sentiment Set that I had matted onto the plaque from Poinsettia Globe  using SerifI intended to use this for another project but I managed to print the whole thing out wonky (story of my life) but managed to rescue this part of it!
Ingredients:
Sentiment: Christmas Hugs Sentiment Set  matted onto plaque from Poinsettia Globe
Dies: Tonic ‘Threaded Scallop Circles’ – Sue Wilson ‘Holly Sprays’
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – Kraft – LOTV ‘Woodland Wishes’
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils

Dig Choosday Challenge – Week 45: CAS!

Hello, how are you keeping?

Ok, so today I have some really exciting news (well exciting for me anyway) today I am showcasing my first card as a member of the fabulous Digi Choosday DT!  YAY!! Doing an embarrassing happy dance!! J J J I am over the moon to be able to work with Nikky Hall’s amazing designs! Doing an even more embarrassing happy dance!! J

So my first challenge with the amazing Digi Choosday team is CAS, so we would like to see your clean and simple designs please!  As usual there is a fab prize up for grabs so check out the blog for details.

For my card I chose to use the uber adorable Etty Shy and elements from the wonderful Winston Full Collection which has the most gorgeous colour palette!

Now I am not ashamed to scream from the rooftops that I ADORE digis! (I think I may have mentioned it a few times before J) They are so versatile and easy to use and when it comes to designing your own layouts or toppers they come into their own!

As this was a CAS challenge I decided to take Etty into Serif and mat her onto a white square which in turn was matted onto one of the gorgeous papers from the Winston Full CollectionI then added the sentiment so the entire topper was just a single layer and after re-sizing some of the flowers from the collection (did I say I loved digis) and printing them separately I 3D’d them to add interest.  And there you go. Clean, simple and won’t cost a fortune to post!!

Ingredients:
Stamps: Etty Shy
Digital Elements: Winston Full Collection
Dies: None
Paper/Card: Neenah Solar White – A6 tent fold card blank
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum Noir markers & pencils
Others: Graph’it Shake White Pen

From NOW until Friday 14th November you can use a special Digi Choosday code as a gift from the team (as a big hello to us newbies) which will give you a MASSIVE 40% OFF digi stamps pop over to the blog for all the details!! And while you're there check out the amazing CAS inspiration created by my new team mates and join in with this fab challenge! And don't forget to check out Nikky’s incredible designs in the shop!

Thanks so much for looking, and have a great day!
See ya!
