Digi Choosday Challenge – Week 28: Use an Old Collection/Something Old!

Hello!  Hope all is well with you and yours!

So for my make this week I chose to use the very first of Nikky's Work and Play series WORK AND PLAY 1 featuring the fabulously cute FIREMAN JIM who is also available in a clear stamp HERE !   

I decorated a premade Kraft crate to make it looks like a house on fire and so our lovely Jim is coming to the rescue!! Although he has yet to successfully put the fire out! Come on Jim, don't just stand there looking cute, get a move on!! J

Ok so I went a little die-tastic on my project this week, making a card for my dad for Father’s Day.

I used the wonderful HOLIDAYS DIGI STAMP and the oh-so-useful sky paper from the WORK AND PLAY 3 BUNDLE.  This image so reminded me of my dad.  During the summer when I was younger he used to sit out in the garden, reading the paper with a knotted hankie on his head (I kid you ‘knot’)! The sentiment is also from the WORK AND PLAY 3 BUNDLE.

Not too sure how ‘manly’ all the flowers and gems are but there you go. He’s asleep so he’s probably not bothered!! J

Now like a lot of crafters I love to use Kraft card and I particularly enjoy colouring onto it with pencils! It gives such a great effect, well when other people do it anyway! J          

So for my project this week I have taken a pre-coloured paint pot image from one of Nikky’s newest collections WORK AND PLAY 11 and enlarged it in Serif.  I then matted the digi stamp FEMALE PAINTER/DECORATOR on top of it, colouring her to match with Spectrum Noir Pencils.  The pre-coloured paintbrush and sentiment can also be found in the WORK AND PLAY 11 bundle.  I tried to make the sentiment look like dripping paint so don't look too closely!!

Nikky released a brand new collection recently called WORK AND PLAY 10 – COUNTRY LIFE and I used this in my creation this week.

 I decided to do a stepper card and use the adorable FOXY FRIEND from the collection that can be bought separately if you wish.  Now, be honest, wouldn’t you like a hat like that!

 I went for a slightly over the top black and pink themed design and used white gel pen to add dots to her hat and boots.  I think I over blushed her cheeks though (well she is the healthy outdoor type)!

Just wanted to start by saying thank you so much for your birthday wishes yesterday everyone! I spent the day freezing my whatnots off at Warwick Castle but had a fabulous time and a lovely meal out! Frostbite notwithstanding!!!

I love this little guy! Great hat!!

I also used one of the papers from Work & Play 6 (the stars are cut from this paper too), a ticket sentiment from Work & Play 1 and a circular ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment (that became the base drum) from Work & Play 8. These collections are soooo versatile and trust me you need them all!!! J

So after the post-Christmas ‘not-at-all-in the-mood-for-crafting’ slump I confess to struggling somewhat with this one! (Hence the ‘Yikes’ earlier!!) I have only ever made one other WoW creation in my life so I was a bit stumped.  However when I saw this little lady I thought she would be perfect for the challenge…….

I used the super cute Polkadoodles Work & Play Chef that is available as an instant download or you can print her from the awesome Work and Play 7 Collection.  This also includes tons of sentiments and elements, some of which I have included here.  However the apron is a 'Hopeless Hand drawing' which I have to admit looks a tad like Robbie the Robot...and look he's waving!!! J J
