Digi Choosday Challenge – Week 30: Animals!

Hello!  Hope all is well with you and yours!

Just before I start I wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you who take the time to comment on my strange creations! It means the world to me and I really do appreciate it.  Unfortunately I have not been quite so generous with MY comments just lately but that is because I hurt my back while moving some furniture (note to self...that's what guys are for) so I have been struggling with the pain a bit. Getting better now though thank goodness so normal service should be resumed forthwith!!  You haven’t got rid of me yet!! Ha, ha!!

So anyway, back to the job in hand!  A couple of weeks ago our lovely Scatty Jan used non-Christmas images, the gorgeous ODDELLA GIRLS, to create some amazing Christmas tags that you can see here!  So being inspired by this I decided to use OCTAVIA MOONFLY UNICORN to create a non-traditional Christmas card! 

The papers, sleigh and sentiment are all from the FESTIVE HOLLYBOBS COLLECTION and I turned our OCTAVIA into Santa’s Little Helper!! Either that or she is nicking all the pressies!!! Oi, bring them back!! J

Delightful Wednesday – Summer!

Hello there! Hope all is well with you and yours!

Ok it is my turn today to show a Wednesday project on the DIGITAL DELIGHTS BLOG and the theme Sandy and I chose for July is Summer!

I chose to use the gorgeous QUEEN BEE for my make this time! Isn’t she fab! Bet you didn’t know that you can tell a Queen Bee by her teeny tiny crown and natty blue boots!! Well there you go; every day’s a school day!! J

 I decided that our royal insect deserved a hive to live in so I made one from Kraft card and decorated it with some bee buttons!

So I’m a girl (I use the ladies room so I must be) and there is nothing I like more than a good handbag (unfortunately this is not a good handbag J I’d NEVER get my purse in this!!) so I thought I would create one by taking a 6x6 card and trimming it down.

The image is the wonderful ODDELLA WITH BAG who I tried to colour to match the stunning papers from the EDEN COLLECTION.  Quite why she has blue skin is anyone’s guess but she does have a zombie look, bless her, so it seemed appropriate. Or maybe she’s feeling a bit blue as she can’t get her purse in this bag either!! J

I decorated a premade Kraft crate to make it looks like a house on fire and so our lovely Jim is coming to the rescue!! Although he has yet to successfully put the fire out! Come on Jim, don't just stand there looking cute, get a move on!! J

Hostess Monday at Digital Delights!

Hello everyone! Hope you are well and had a good weekend!

It’s Hostess Monday over on the DIGITAL DELIGHTS BLOG today and it is my turn to…..well be hostess!  J

Now I LOVE the super cute Jubbly Animal collection that Wendy has created, all of which you can see HERE, so I couldn't resist using the ridiculously adorable JUBBLY ZEBRA for my card today.  Just wanna hug him!!!

I simply coloured him using a 6B graphite pencil and in honour of his black and white stripy-ness (bless) I stuck to this simple colour scheme with a pop of pink for fun!!

The sentiment is from the KEEPING IN TOUCH SENTIMENT SET and is so useful for all those ‘not-too-sure-what-to-say’ occasions.

Zodiac Virgo!

OK now I have 2 female birthdays coming up in August (get me being that forward thinking) so I decided to use the gorgeous ZODIAC VIRGO for my card today!

I went a bit ‘off-piste’ (not swearing) with my colour combo today mixing my greens a bit.  This was because I had chosen my paper but also wanted to use a bow that I have had in my ribbon drawer since the Age of Aquarius (sticking with the whole Zodiac theme here)J!!!

When I think of summer I think flowers, bees and butterflies hence the image I chose for my project this time so please allow me to introduce you to the adorable BUTTERFLY VICKY who very kindly comes with her own sentiment!  Thanks love!

I made a shaped card from a Tonic die set and went mad with punched butterflies!!  To be honest I was not too sure where I was going with this one (story of my life) but I think it turned out all right in the end!!

Oh Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the……sorry!

Hello!  Hope all is well with you and yours! Happy Christmas!!  It’s Choosday so it’s time for a new challenge over at DIGI CHOOSDAY and can you guess what the theme is? Yes this week it is Christmas in July! Well whilst basking in the summer heat I made an icy Christmas card using the wonderful PICKNIX 2: GINGERBREAD TWIST BUNDLE!  Wow there is so much in this collection that I was spoilt for choice but I knew I wanted to make a diorama/shadow box/theatre card thingy (not its real name) so I used the versatile scene and fun snowlady.

I put my snowlady at an angle so she looked a bit like a Weeble…. you remember those… they wobble but they don’t fall down!!! J

The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge #7!

Hello! How is everyone! Good I hope! It’s July apparently! Good grief…nearly Christmas!!

So today launches our new monthly challenge over on THE PAPER NEST DOLLS CHALLENGE BLOG and our theme is Anything Goes! This time we are sponsored by the wonderful…

Now Christine has designed a whole range of dolls on a fairy-tale theme all of which you can see HERE and I decided to use the super pretty PRINCESS SWEET PEA.

I guess I went with the obvious for this card by putting PEA in front of a bed piled with mattresses that I made from the fab papers in the LOTV ‘Always and Forever’ NitWit Collection pad.  A little rough on the cutting front and the hand drawn buttons and pillow are a bit of a fright but she found the pea so she’s happy!! J 

The four-poster bed is made from Kraft card and a Spellbinders border die.  You won’t believe the amount of foam pads that are lurking around the back! Shocking!!!

I couldn’t find any SN markers to match this time so I used Promarkers instead which I haven’t used for ages.  I was surprised to find there was ink still left in them!!
