Digi Choosday Challenge – Reds, Oranges & Browns!

Good morning!  Hope all is well with you and yours!

It’s Choosday which means it’s time for a new challenge over at DIGI CHOOSDAY and our theme this week is Reds, Oranges & Browns! Oooh the gorgeous colours of the season! My card this week is for another brother that has the audacity to have a wedding anniversary coming up!! I mean really!!  The colours of this challenge are perfect as my brother and his wife were married in November in the amazing setting of Stowe School grounds. They have some fab photos taken of them in front of a backdrop of amazing autumn shades.  I don’t think any peacocks were present but I do love this image from the wonderful DOLLIE DAYDREAM GOES EAST so I used it.

I printed the image twice onto Neenah Desert Storm card, flipping one so that they faced each other, forgoing the usual peacock colours to fit the challenge.  I used a pen to dot over the background to break up the ‘blankness’ of it, an idea I wish I hadn’t had after losing the will to live halfway through!!

Hello! How is everyone? Good I hope!

My mum asked me if I could make her a bookmark with an angel on it, so of course I said no!! J  Well obviously I didn’t.  As a dutiful, kind and generous daughter (job description still under review) I found the perfect image called ANGEL ELLIE. Isn’t she an…..well…angel!! J

As the purpose of a bookmark is to save the page and not make the book impossible to close I didn’t add much dimension or frills to it.

Have to say I love it and it’s not often I say that about my stuff.  It is probably the colours, which I adore, or that sweet little face.  Either way my mum NOW says she does not want to use her as a bookmark in case she ‘squashes her’ between the pages!!!  Rolls eyes; shakes head; weeps a little!! J

Delightful Wednesday – Halloween!

It is my turn today to post a Wednesday project on the DIGITAL DELIGHTS BLOG and Sandy and I chose Halloween to unnerve you this month. Waaahaha!!! Hmmm, sorry!

My image is called WIZARD BERTIE and what a cutie he is! And as you can see the frog survived its traumatic ‘almost a stew’ moment from my previous Delightful Wednesday post here.  Either that or it’s his twin brother!

A lot of crazy colour going on here I must say. I had this fab wizard hat paper that came free with a mag so had to use that and the design sort of ‘magically’ grew from there.

Digi Choosday Challenge –Favourite Colour Combo!

Now I have quite a few fave colour combos but have to admit that my ultimate favourite is purple/lilac with aqua/blue! Yum! I adore these cool shades and what could go better with cool tones than a ‘cool’ image and that is why I chose the super fab ICE FISHING for my design this time.

I tried to create a sort of ‘Northern Lights’ effect with my pencils but I'm not too sure it worked. Still she doesn't looked bothered so that's OK. J

Delightful Wednesday – Halloween!

Hello there! Hope all is well with you and yours!

It is my turn today to post a Wednesday project on the DIGITAL DELIGHTS BLOG and as we are now in the month of October (!!) the theme Sandy and I chose is very appropriately Halloween!

Luuurve Halloween, which I think I may have mentioned before, and I have made a little A6 card to celebrate it.

I have used this super cute witch and her froggie called BOILING IN THE POT but I rather like to think that it is bath time rather than ‘dinner' time!!

I coloured her with my Lyra’s in a sort of ‘spotlight’ way (?) and made a little broomstick so she could make a quick getaway if the frog got nasty!! Well if you were on the menu wouldn’t you?!! J

So with Halloween just around the corner (yippee!) I got my spook on by making a little creepy creation in a diorama/shadow box/theatre card thingy (not its real name)!

The image is the gorgeous ODDELLA BOW who I have zombiefied, adding a little dribbled blood for a giggle!! Boy is she a messy eater!! J  The wonderful background SPOOKY HOUSE and PAPERS were merged in Serif to create a scene (there I go again!) and I added the aptly named Spiders Web to the inside of the aperture.

 Don’t you just love that sentiment? Now who amongst your friends could you truly say THAT about!! J

Well here we are in October (already) and I thought it would be rude not to acknowledge the approach of All Hallows’ Eve.  Therefore I made a ‘spooky’ wall hanger featuring the not-at-all-frightening VAMPIRE OWEN and papers and elements from some of the fab Polkadoodles Halloween bundles.

I coloured Owen and the pumpkin with my can’t-stop-using-them LYRA REMBRANDT POLYCOLOR PENCILS and fussy cut them to go on top of my scene.  A bit of Serif digi merging has gone on here to create the sky and ground behind the haunted house and to mat the sentiment on top of the pumpkin.  Hey, get me!!

I really adore this image and just had to use him for the challenge.  I have to admit to being a bit of a Halloween fan and we have a party every year so this will be hanging up somewhere in my house! Oooooooh! (That’s a ghost noise by the way!!)
