Hi, hope all is well with you and yours
It’s my favourite time of year. I love to see all the changing colours of the leaves
and it means Christmas is not too far away! (ooh ‘eck!)
We always celebrate Halloween as a family, we’ve done it for
years, and it’s a great excuse to have a party.
We call it ‘Spooky Food Night’.
Yes I know but when we were young we used to try to make the party food
look spooky, you know, sausages that looked like fingers, and jelly worms in
the punch. I’m happy to say we have
never grown out of it.
Anyway, enough waffle.
Today I would like to share my take on autumn/Halloween. It actually started out as just a card incorporating
autumnal shades but then went a bit ‘Halloweeny’.
I used the gorgeous ‘Autumn’ by the awesome Krista Smith and
I coloured her with Promarkers. I cut
her out using Spellbinders scalloped circle dies and inked the edges with Wild
Honey and Rusty Hinge DI’s.
The leaves are a Clarity stamp set and I edged them with
gilding flake (boy that stuff gets everywhere!). The cat is a Kanban stamp and the pumpkin was
a free digi. I wanted to add a spider or
two so I drew one hanging from her hair and gave the Memory Box Precious Heart
die some eyes and a few legs, silly I know.
Once I had added my bow I thought I was all done until I
realised I had not included a sentiment. Doh! So
I drew a ghost, made the word BOO! from his eyes and stuck him in the corner. I figured it was the ghost version of Hi!
And there you are, a spooky autumn.
See ya!
Smiling always (looking forward to Spooky Food Night)!
Scribbly hugs
Jane xx
