Happy Halloween everyone! Waaaaaaahhhhhhhaaaaa! Blimey I scared myself then!!
So here I am again as we have a new challenge at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards with a very appropriate theme! Yes it's Halloween! So get a bit creepy and show us some spooktacular makes! But do remember that we are a CARD ONLY challenge! We'll be round to haunt you if you get that wrong!! J
And there is a fab
prize up for grabs for one lucky winner so check out the blog for details!
Rick very generously let the DT each pick an image for this
challenge (thank you) and I went for the gorgeously mysterious and not too
wicked Mystique! Love her fabulous hat!
Ok so I even shocked
myself with my craziness this time! This is, in essence , the second in my
‘Dressing Table Series’ (I’m not really doing a series, it’s just the second
one of these I've done but that sounds quite arty so I'm going with it! J ) I originally made a
Vintage version here.
I have to say I’m not that keen on horror (you've seen my
creations you may disagree!!) but I do love Halloween. Maybe because I
associate it with family as we always get together for a little party that we
have affectingly called ‘Spooky Food Night’! It was so named as the party food
was all gross out stuff like sausages on sticks that looked like severed
fingers and fruit gum snakes and spiders in the punch! Nowadays it’s just a
takeaway with a lighted pumpkin on the table! I sort of miss those severed
fingers {sigh}!
Ingredients:
Image: Mystique
Dies: Spellbinders
‘Labels 1’ & ‘Fleur De Lis Squares’
Silhouette Cuts: Spider,
cauldron & cobweb
Stamps: Cat free
with mag - perfume bottle by See-D Stamps
Paper/Card: Neenah
Desert Storm – LOTV ‘Father Knows Best’ & ‘Antebellum’
Colouring/Ink: Spectrum
Noir markers & pencils – Walnut Stain DI
Others: Foil
shapes – Kebab stick & fringed Kraft card to make the broom – Liquid Pearls
Hopeless Hand
drawings: (Brace yourself, there’s a few!) Pumpkin on perfume bottle, skull
and candle, spell book with spider, bubbles from cauldron, a couple of dodgy dangly
spiders, ghost and skeletal hand!
So get your spook on and creep over to see what my fabulous
teamies have done for this challenge and play along!
Thanks so much for looking and have a good day!
See ya!
Colourful hugs
Jane xx

Another fantastic piece Jane! It really looks so 3d, very effective! Love the little spiders hanging down from the frame, the ghost coming out of the ripped wallpaper and that witches broom! So many wonderful details! Spectacular! big hugs :)
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant Jane! Just like the last one. Only far spookier! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe never did anything for Halloween until the kids were old enough to go out and enjoy it. And we didn't start decorating our house until we moved into this one a few years ago. We still don't usually get many trick-or-treaters, but we try to attract them with lights and decorations and goodie-bags stuffed with - what my son would call - NOM!
(We may have gone a little overboard this year... We went to the Macro and ended up with a trolley full of diabetes waiting to happen!)
Our Halloween dinner usually consists of a light snack, as we tend to go out relatively early and I want them to have *something* in their stomachs before the sweets get stuffed in there! lol. x
Where do I start, firstly, I love your posts. You make me laugh and that really brights the day. Such a clever wit. Then onto your creations, these really are fabulous. Wonderful image and your stunning design detail. A complete delight. Enjoy your Halloween Jane.
